The best cafe in the University District, according to The Lantern’s 2025 Best of OSU special edition, will open the doors to its seventh Columbus location Saturday.?
Fox in the Snow will host the grand opening for its new Upper Arlington location at 1510 Lane Ave. at 8 a.m Saturday. The Columbus-based bakery and coffee shop also operates locations in Italian Village and German Village, according to its website.?
“Every shop is just really excited to immerse themselves into the community,” said Harrison Wardle, general manager of the Upper Arlington location. “Every shop is a Fox in the Snow, but they’re all just so different, based on the area surrounding.”?
Wardle said the new location will be one of the chain’s largest, with approximately 25 employees.?
To celebrate the grand opening, Wardle said employees will hand out free t-shirts at the new location, branded with the cafe’s signature fox logo and “Upper Arlington” beneath it, to the first 300 customers in line.?
Fox in the Snow was founded by Lauren Culley and Jeff Excell in 2014, and is known for its in-house made baked goods, welcoming environment and sense of community, according to the website.?
Wardle said he hopes the Upper Arlington location will become an inviting space for customers and a friendly workplace for employees.?
“I just want everybody to come in and feel super welcome,” Wardle said. “I’m trying to create a great culture for the community and the people that work here.”?
Fox in the Snow will bring its most popular baked goods and coffee drinks to the new location, according to Wardle, including their souffled egg sandwich, cinnamon roll, blueberry galette and New Orleans iced coffee.?
Wardle said he is excited for Ohio State students to experience the new location.?
“It’s a great place to come hang out, study [and] meet with your friends,” Wardle said.?
