Ohio State Dining Services will partner with the Wilce Student Health Center to potentially use Grubhub Rovers to deliver health-related products to students, with hopes to launch around fall break to combat cold weather-related illnesses.?
Abby Hertzfeld, senior director of Dining Services, said health product deliveries should launch around fall break, Hertzfeld said.?
Jason Goodman, lead pharmacist at the Wilce Student Health Center, said only over-the-counter medication would be delivered at launch.?
Over-the-counter includes cough, cold and allergy medications, vitamins, supplements and medications for gastrointestinal issues, all of which are already offered at the health center.??
“A lofty goal would be to get into prescription delivery,” Goodman said.?
Students will still order through the existing Grubhub system, similar to how they order food through the rover delivery service. Specifically programmed rovers will go to a delivery site and then come back to the Wilce Student Health Center, Hertzfeld said.?
There will be specific rovers for the Wilce Student Health Center location, Hertzfeld said.?
The idea for robot medicine delivery came from students in the College of Pharmacy Partner for Promotion program. Partner for Promotion is an entrepreneurial project-based program.?
Lindsay Charley, a pharmacy student and intern, said they wanted to share the pharmacy’s services with students in a new way.
